For macOS/iOS, the most common task management applications are:

• The built-in Reminders app (great for lightweight use)
• OmniFocus
• Things
• Todoist

My thoughts on OmniFocus vs. Things.

Other task managers I’ve run across

• TickTick: cross platform, not too complex
• Taskade: team task manager with a Kanban board format
