Web Analytics

There is some push-back against Google Analytics, the default free web analytics platform, due to privacy concerns. Here are some alternatives:
- Matomo ($9/month or free self-hosted; formerly called Piwik)
- Fathom Analytics ($14/month or free self-hosted)
- Simple Analytics ($9/month)
- Clicky (may not be better than Google Analytics for privacy)
- GoatCounter ($3/month)
- Plausible Analytics ($6/month+)
There are lots of small companies in this space (like Fathom Analytics and Simple Analytics). There is a danger of these shutting down without the ability to migrate old data to another platform. Matomo has been around for a while, so if you care about this then that is probably a better bet.
